Sony took full advantage of product placement in the Casino Royale blockbuster James Bond movie and continued the theme into an online consumer contest. Consumers visiting the site could play casino style instant win games for a chance to win great Sony prizes and trips. A retail tie-in had consumers winning virtual poker chips with PIN codes. The poker chip numbers were then delivered by email and consumers could visit any Sony retail location to see if their numbers matched winning numbers posted in the store. The program converted online site visitors into retail store visitors who were often looking for products featured in the movie and on the contest site.
